EVENT PLANNING

The event I chose to work on for this project was the Northbrook MET Open Evening, specifically the Photobooth with Olivia, Ellie, Grace and Daisy.

THE PLAN

We will be organising a photography board for all the visitors to have their picture taken in front of to remember the night. We will be designing the board and taking the photos.

The board will be black with yellow MET logos printed all over it to match the official college logo. As it is hard to focus the camera with a black background due to the lack of lighting, we will have to make sure we have a flashgun attached to the camera to ensure this is not an issue and al the photos are in focus.

A tripod will also be needed so we don’t have to worry about things like camera shake, the cropping, etc. This means taking the photos will be quick as we don’t have to worry about composition.

Props will also be available for visitors to use for their photos to lighten the mood and produce funny, lighthearted photos.

Equipment Needed:

  • Huge sheet of black card

  • MET logo stencil

  • Yellow paint

  • Tripod

  • Camera

  • Flashgun

  • Props - (Music, Art & Design, Graphics, Textiles, Catering, Games and Development)

CREATING THE BOARD

Ellie, Grace and I made a couple of MET logo stencils using a scalpel and cardboard to make ensure the board would look as professional as possible with no design errors.

Once this was done, we booked in the spray paint room and Olivia, Ellie, Grace and Daisy went about spray painting the logo onto the black sheet of fabric.

THE RESULT

Although not a lot of people visited the photobooth, I still managed to take quite a few photos as the Events Management students ended up using it a lot when we were not busy.
