During this project, I got a place on the "Fightback Grassroots Promoter Programme" run by Music Venue Trust and PRS Foundation. I attended the training day for this and am now putting on a gig in Brighton as part of the programme and would love to make it part of my FMP. I am planning to set up a promotions company too and potentially putting on a club night to go with it (as well as the gig). I had the idea of creating a showreel of footage from these 2 events to use to promote the company as I have recently upgraded my camera and can now film high-quality videos. I already have lots of experience in video-making so can use this to produce a mini film of my promotions company.

I want to do this to get more experience in fields I already work in as well as new experience in something I have not done before (promoting). It will build up my portfolio and help grow my network & connections more which is something I am actively doing.

Resources I will need for this project include my FB:GP mentor, social media, good emails, my network of contacts, iMovie, and my camera. Threats I face, however, include funds (potentially not enough), a bad audience, poor weather on the night of the event (this will put some people off coming), venue restrictions, and bands' availability.

From this, I will gain experience in promoting gigs & running a club night, my own promotions company, and a good portfolio to show to potential employers. I will also be raising money for Music Venue Trust and help independent venues.
